Jeremy Renner’s crime drama Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 arrives on streaming this weekend. What time does the new season begin and what is it about?
Created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown debuted in 2021 and returned with Season 2 in 2023. The series returned with Season 3 in 2024, following Renner’s catastrophic snowplow accident on New Year’s Day in 2023, where he was nearly crushed to death.
In the series, Renner stars as Mike McLusky, an ex-convict-turned-powerbroker and fixer in Kingstown, Mich., who struggles to keep the peace inside and outside the walls of the industry town’s prisons.
The official summary for Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 reads, “Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town.
“Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”
Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 begins streaming on Paramount+ on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 3 a.m./12 a.m. PT with Episode 1, titled Coming ‘Round the Mountain. Like the previous seasons of the series, Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 consists of 10 episodes.
For viewers who don’t subscribe to Paramount+, the platform offers two streaming options: The ad-based Paramount+ Essential costs $7.99 per month and the ad-free Paramount+ Premium costs $12.99 per month.
Who Else Stars In ‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ Season 4?
Edie Falco (The Sopranos, Nurse Jackie) joins the cast of Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 as the new Kingstown prison warden, Nina Hobbs. Also new to the cast this season are Lennie James and Laura Benanti.
Returning cast members include series co-creator Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, Nishi Munshi and Necar Zadegan.
While Rotten Tomatoes has yet to establish a rating for Mayor of Kingstown Season 4, three early reviews on the site are overwhelmingly positive.
Among the critics who give the season a “fresh” review on RT are Grant Hermanns of Screen Rant, who writes, “Jeremy Renner’s Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 is back with some of the darkest and most intense storylines yet, putting the series at an all-time high.”
In addition, Jeff Ewing of Collider gives the new season a “fresh” review, writing in his RT summary, “Season 4 is the most tense and emotional installment to date, building palpable threats for beloved characters, and [Jeremy] Renner’s series has never been better.”
