- The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania announces that they are launching a certificate course that is about Business in the Metaverse Economy.
- The duration of this online course would be six-week, while the fees of this course will be $4,500.
Wharton School, one of the biggest Business Schools, is going to launch the certificate course with Aresty Institute of Executive Education. That will be through online mode.
Wharton’s Course Highlights
The Wharton’s became the first Ivy League Business School that launched a program on Emerging Technology. Their course will cover around fifty lectures, that further include guest speakers. The course needs 8-10 hours of study per week.
The consulting firm behind the designing of this course is Prysm Group. They will present the course with the industry representatives and their faculty. And adding upto six case studies into the course.
If we talk about the guest speakers in this course, then it would be from various companies. Like Adobe, Animoca Brands, R/GA, RLY Network, Second Life, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

The information of the launching of this course is sourced from the twitter account of Wharton.
The academic director of this certificate course, Kevin Werbach stated that,
“The metaverse is a significant and broad phenomenon that is still poorly understood. We hope to equip business leaders, consultants, and entrepreneurs with an understanding of the impending opportunities the metaverse brings.”
The first group of the students will start on September, 12. While the students have to spend around 8-10 hours in a week. And the course fee will be $4,500 per student.
On the way to promote and support crypto currency, the school will accept the cryptocurrencies as their payment mode. As they already did in the last year for their online course Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets.
That course was introduced with the same duration and course fee. On the other hand, Wharton also operated the Stevens Centre Blockchain Laboratory and provided a free introductory course on crypto and blockchain on the well-known website Coursera.
Concluding to the following blog, the Wharton estimates that Metaverse will be a $13 trillion market with around five billion users by 2030. And the school also claimed that they will be the first school to present a course on Metaverse.
