Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams returns to Nevermore Academy in Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2, Part 1, directed and executive produced by Tim Burton alongside creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.
Part 1 of Season 2, appropriately, begins streaming on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Wednesday Season 1 became an instant streaming sensation after all eight episodes of the series debuted on Netflix on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022. To date, the macabre comedy mystery remains the most-streamed series globally in the history of Netflix with 252.1 million views, which equates to a staggering 1.718 billion hours viewed.
Wednesday, of course, is a member of the creepy and kooky and altogether ooky Addams Family, who were born of the imagination of legendary New Yorker cartoonist Charles Addams in a series of cartoons.
The Addams Family first sprang off the pages of The New Yorker to the live-action realm for the classic ABC-TV series in 1964.

From there, the series leaped from television to theaters for two Addams Family movies in 1991 and 1993, which were followed by animated iterations on both the small and big screens in the years before Wednesday arrived on Netflix in 2022.
Wednesday Season 2, Part 1 consists of four episodes, which begin streaming on Wednesday. Here’s a look at the principal characters for Wednesday’s sophomore season at Nevermore Academy.

Catherine Zeta-Jones reprises her role as Addams family matriarch Morticia Addams in Wednesday Season 2. Zeta-Jones has been promoted from guest star in Season 1 to cast regular in Season 2 as Morticia and Gomez Addams spend some time at Nevermore Academy.
Zeta-Jones won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing Velma Kelly in the 2002 Best Picture Oscar winner Chicago (2002).

Luis Guzmán reprises his role of Addams Family patriarch Gomez Addams in Wednesday, Season 2. Like Catherine Zeta-Jones, Guzmán has been promoted from a guest star in Season 1 to a cast regular in Season 2 as Wednesday and Pugley’s parents have an increased presence in the series.
Guzmán’s film credits include Black Rain, Carlito’s Way, Out of Sight, Magnolia, Traffic, Boogie Nights, Punch-Drunk Love and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.

After being a double for Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Suotamo played Chewie in Episode VII: The Last Jedi and Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker and Solo: A Stars Wars Story.
Suotamo has also starred as the Wookie Master Kelnacca in the Star Wars series The Acolyte and the monstrous creature The Scourge in the Willow streaming series.
