We Are SG Minting Begins to Celebrate Singapore National Day

We Are SG, also known as WASG, is being launched by GERMS Digital to celebrate Singapore National Day 2022. The NFT collection features 9,822 NFTs that Singaporeans have created.

The NFT collection depicts everyday Singaporean activities like national service men and delivery drivers.

Out of the 9,822 NFTs, 12 NFTs hold unique and limited traits. We Are SG NFT collection can be minted from August 09, 2022, for free; however, users will only have to pay the Ethereum gas fee.

GERMS Digital is a marketing agency launching the NFT collection in partnership with Alchemy Pay, a payment provider. Each NFT is created as a layer, and all the artworks have been generated by combining these layers.

The official website of We Are SG said that the aim of launching the collection was to make digital artworks relevant to all kiasus and kaypohs through the ownership experience. The NFT minting date has been set to coincide with Singapore National Day.

James Chua, the Managing Director at GERMS, stated that businesses could use NFTs to target new audiences beyond their traditional marketing channels. John Tan, the Chief Executive Officer of Alchemy Pay, said that the availability of fiat to crypto on ramping would make a crucial difference in accessing We Ae SG and ensure a high adoption rate for the project’s success on the National Day of Singapore.

We Are SG has published a guide of four steps to show how a user can own a piece of the NFT.

1. Users can start by installing a digital wallet like MetaMask before proceeding to mint or buy the NFT. The best way is to install the extension or download the mobile application.
2. The next step is to acquire enough ETH to cover the gas fee. NFT minting is free, but the ETH gas fee is applicable. One can acquire the digital token from MetaMask or Alchemy Pay.
3. Connect the wallet to the official website of We Are SG and click Mint once the wallet has been successfully connected to the website. Pay the ETH gas fee by confirming on the pop-up.
4. NFT will immediately be sent to the wallet after a user has minted it on the network; however, the NFT will only be revealed on August 10, 2022, at 8 pm.

Users must use their Debit or Credit card on Alchemy Pay or MetaMask while purchasing ETH. There can be a minimum ETH that users must buy in every transaction. Other crypto exchanges can be considered to purchase the token, but a minimum cool-down period applies if the token is sent to the MetaMask wallet.

A list of Utility Partners includes names like the secret mermaid, Tanuki Raw, Salmon Samurai, The World Is Flat, and Bioderma, to name a few.

The benefit of owning an NFT from the collection is that the holder gets real-life perks from local & international brands along with a priority to various events.
