The month of February is almost over, which means we’re getting a whole bunch of new content in March. Sadly, it also means we’re losing some great movies at the end of the month as well.
Eight films are leaving the streaming service at the end of February, and a few of these are definitely worth watching (I haven’t seen all of them so I can’t really say they’re all good). Here are the ones I recommend you stream while you still have time.
Air Force One
Harrison Ford faces off against Gary Oldman up in the sky as Air Force One, the president’s very own plane, is hijacked by terrorists. When I saw this film back in the late 90s’ I didn’t even know who Gary Oldman was, but now I know he’s one of the greatest actors of all time—in both hero and villain roles. Glenn Close, William H. Macy and more round out the cast.
Shutter Island
Shutter Island is crazy. The Martin Scorsese film is an adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s novel of the same name (the writer of Mystic River, which was also adapted into a major motion picture). The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a federal marshal investigating an isolated psychiatric facility in the 1950s. Things go very, very wrong. Like Air Force One, I haven’t seen this movie in ages.
Other than these two movies, the only other one on the list that I’ve actually seen is Scream 4 and honestly I didn’t care for it. Most of the Scream movies are pretty terrible other than the first one and the newest Scream 5 reboot. You’re probably better off skipping it. And hey, with just a few days left in the month, two movies should fit the bill. Be sure to check out everything coming to Netflix in March right here.
Here are the eight films leaving Netflix at the end of February:
- Air Force One
- Cake
- Coach Carter
- Margin Call
- Scream 4
- Shutter Island
- Sorry to Bother You
- Walking Tall
