‘Warzone 2’ Is Getting A Massive Update In Season 3

Some big changes and additional modes are headed to Warzone 2 next week when Season 3 kicks off.

The money-gathering, slightly-less-stressful-than-battle-royale mode, Plunder, returns, which should please fans of the original Warzone. On top of that, the terrifying Warzone Ranked mode is launching sometime mid-season, which sounds like an exercise in frustration above and beyond normal battle royale.

More exciting for me personally is something Infinity Ward is calling ‘Massive Resurgence.’ Resurgence was added to the game in Season 2 and is a really fun, fast-paced twist on the battle royale formula. Here’s how it works:

Your squad drops in just like normal but instead of dying or going to the Gulag when you die, as long as someone in your squad is still alive you just have to survive a countdown timer to be redeployed to the map. This completely changes the dynamic of matches, making it a lot more action-packed with a lot less downtime waiting around after you die.

Now the mode is headed to the big Al Mazrah map, but not like we’ve seen it in the original Warzone, where a small section of the map was cordoned off and a smaller player count entered for the match. Instead, the whole map will be used alongside 150 player lobbies. Only now, Resurgence will be turned on. This is very exciting, as it should make Warzone matches on the big map much more exciting and less tedious.

Along with new modes, Warzone 2 will see Redeploy Drones added to Al Mazrah, new weapons including a new Sniper Rifle and much more. See the Season 3 roadmap in the infographic below:
