The Netflix movie “Wake Up Dead: A Knives Out Mystery,” starring Daniel Craig, is new in theaters. How soon will it be available on the streaming platform?
Craig reprises his role as Benoit Blanc in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which follows his turn as the intrepid private investigator in the whodunit movies Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022).
Rian Johnson wrote and directed the first two Knives Out movies and returns in both capacities for Wake Up Dead Man. The official synopsis for the movie reads, “Benoit Blanc (Craig) returns for his most dangerous case yet in the third and darkest chapter of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery opus. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery opens in select theaters on Wednesday. The release qualifies the film for awards season consideration, including the Oscars and all the industry guild awards, and also gives fans an opportunity to see the third chapter in the Knives Out series a chance to see the film on the big screen.
Like Netflix’s release of Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is getting a larger-than-normal theatrical release that precedes its release on the streaming platform.
For fans who wish to wait to stream the film instead, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery will arrive on Netflix on Friday, Dec. 12.
