Virgin River. (L to R) Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan, Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel Monroe in … More
Relax Virgin River fans. The soapy romantic antics in the picturesque fictional town, which is filmed in British Columbia, Canada and based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr, is confirmed to return for season eight at Netflix. This renewal comes ahead of the premiere of the seventh season, which makes it the longest-running scripted series historically on Netflix. Production on the seventh season has recently wrapped with 10 new episodes.
When we last visited Virgin River in December 2024, Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) finally said “I do.” Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), who was supposed to help with the wedding preparations, suddenly went missing. Jack found Charmaine’s house broken into. And Mel’s patient Marley (Rachel Drance) asked Mel and Jack to adopt her baby after the previously chosen adoptive couple backed out.
Will Mel and Jack live happily ever after? Is Charmaine still alive? Are her twins safe? Will the newlyweds become immediate parents? And…
Will Brady (Ben Hollingworth) and Bri (Zibby Allen) get back together?
Is Doc’s (Tim Matheson) medical career over?
Will Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) and Denny (Kai Bradbury) stay together as new parents?
Will Denny’s medical condition escalate?
Is Muriel (Teryl Rothery) cancer free?
And what about the Virgin River “sewing circle” – Hope (Annette O’Toole), Connie (Nicola Cavendish), Jo Ellen (Gwynyth Walsh), Lydie (Christina Jastrzembska) and Muriel? Will these fictional yentas dig up any dirt on anyone new in seasons seven and eight?
Season seven of Virgin River is expected to be released in early to mid-2026. The number of episodes ordered for season eight has not been announced at press time.
