Vince McMahon Beats Pat McAfee, Takes Worst Stunner Ever

Vince McMahon defeated Pat McAfee in an impromptu match after McAfee’s feel-good win over Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38. McMahon’s victory—his first-ever WrestleMania win—gave way to McMahon’s archenemy Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin’s return brought this crowd to life and then some, and concluded with Vince McMahon taking quite possibly the worst Stone Cold Stunner in history.

Fans were unanimously behind McAfee throughout an entertaining match against Austin Theory. Theory was introduced by McMahon as a a “future WWE Universal champion.”

Following McAfee’s win over Theory, leading to one of the biggest pops of the entire weekend, Vince McMahon extinguished McAfee’s flame with his first WrestleMania win in a short match. The 76-year-old McMahon, who appeared in tremendous shape, defeated McAfee with help from Austin Theory.

This led to Stone Cold Steve Austin appearing at WrestleMania Night 2, stunning the WWE Chairman—possibly for one last time.

There were rumors of a McAfee vs. McMahon match at WrestleMania 38, but this match was not announced headed into the card from AT&T Stadium.

Pat McAfee came off as a major star in a highly emotional match against Theory where the entire AT&T Stadium was solidly behind the SmackDown color commentator. Fans were wildly behind the lovable former punter-turned-broadcaster like nothing else the entire weekend—including Steve Austin’s return.

Performing the popular battle cry from “Seven Nation Army” by the White Stripes in support of McAfee, Pat McAfee was easily the biggest babyface of the night.

McAfee is exceptional on commentary, and should be used as an attraction in the ring. But WWE seemingly has one of its biggest babyface in the SmackDown color commentator.
