Taylor Swift made the rounds on network late night shows for the first time in years earlier this month to promote her new album “The Life of a Showgirl,” and delivered “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” its biggest regular episode in years.

NBC squeezed three episodes of “The Tonight Show” and “Late Night With Seth Meyers” out of two Swift appearances, and all three ranked among the top 175 network broadcasts in the week of Oct. 6 to Oct. 12, newly released Nielsen data shows.
Her appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” on Monday, Oct. 6 was the week’s 91st most-watched network broadcast, drawing 1.86 million live viewers to deliver the show its biggest regular audience since at least 2023 (excluding episodes with live sports lead-ins).
The episode’s audience topped the 1.7 million people who watched in August when Fox News host Greg Gutfeld was the show’s guest, and the similar audience Bradley Cooper, Martha Stewart and Rufus and Martha Wainwright drew in December of 2023.
“The Tonight Show” released an extended version of the Swift episode on Friday, Oct. 10, which was watched by 1.21 million live viewers.
Fewer people watched Swift on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” on Wednesday, Oct. 8, which doesn’t air until after midnight on the East Coast, but the episode still drew over 1 million live viewers and delivered the show’s largest audience in the 18–49 demographic since January.

Swift’s 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” has smashed records since it was released earlier this month. The album earned a record debut on the Billboard charts Monday with 4.002 million equivalent album units, giving her the charts’ largest ever debut and making her the solo artist with the most albums to have reached No. 1. Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” sold 3,479,500 copies and garnered 522,600 additional units from streams, topping Adele’s record holding “25” release, which earned 3.482 million album units in 2015. “Life of a Showgirl” was available in 38 different versions by the time it set the record—including 16 CDs, two CD box sets, eight vinyls and 11 digital versions—which boosted its performance, Billboard said. Swift now has six of the top 10 biggest album debuts on Billboard charts since 2014.

“Good Morning America” ratings. Swift appeared on GMA Monday, Oct. 13 to announce a new six-part docuseries chronicling her Eras Tour. Viewership numbers for the episode will be released by Nielsen next week.
