Max Verstappen continued his stellar run of form with a victory at the United States Grand Prix, strengthening his push for a fifth consecutive drivers’ title.
Starting from pole, Verstappen dominated the race from start to finish, securing the win with 7.959 seconds ahead of title contender Lando Norris, who had his hands full battling with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc for P2 throughout the race.
Verstappen’s full mark of 33 points this weekend with wins in both the sprint and the main race has brought his points tally to 306, with the Dutchman now 40 points behind current leader Oscar Piastri and only 26 away from second-placed Norris.
His win also brought his total so far to five this season, levelling him with Norris, and he now has every chance to further chip away at the McLarens and turn the drivers’ championship on its head in the remaining five rounds.
