Vampire Hit ‘Sinners’ Gets Digital Streaming Date, Report Says

Sinners — Ryan Coogler’s blockbuster vampire thriller starring Michael B. Jordan — is reportedly coming soon to digital streaming.

Written and directed by Coogler, Sinners opened in theaters on April 18. The official logline for Sinners reads, “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

Jordan plays the twins — Smoke and Stack — in Sinners, which also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wumni Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller and Delroy Lindo.

Rated R, Sinners is expected to be released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, June 3, according to When to Stream. While When to Stream is typically accurate with its PVOD reports, the streamer tracker did not indicate if Sinners’ studio, Warner Bros., announced or confirmed the film’s digital release date and it is subject to change.

When Sinners is released on PVOD, it will be available on such digital platforms as AppleTV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube.

Prime Video currently has the film available for pre-order for $24.99, which is also the film’s purchase price. Since digital rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, viewers can expect to rent Sinners for $19.99 for a 48-hour period.

Sinners to date has earned $242.5 million in North American ticket sales and $76.3 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $318.8 million against a $90 million production budget before prints and advertising costs, per The Numbers.

Sinners earned a stellar 97% “fresh” rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 361 reviews.

The RT Critics Consensus reads, “A rip-roaring fusion of masterful visual storytelling and toe-tapping music, writer-director Ryan Coogler’s first original blockbuster reveals the full scope of his singular imagination.”

The film also earned a 96% “fresh” score on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 25,000-plus verified user ratings. The audience summer on RT for Sinners reads, “Ryan Coogler has not only delivered a deliciously vicious vampire hit, but an unapologetically Black genre knockout ablaze with a killer cast and a cranked-up score.”

Sinners is expected to arrive on PVOD on June 3.
