Univision is adding a new variety program to its Sunday primetime “Domingos en Familia” (Family Sundays) lineup. De Noche Pero Sin Sueño (At Night But Not Sleepy) debuts on the Spanish-language network as the first late-night weekly talk show produced by TelevisaUnivision as a merged company.
Hosted by Mexican comedian Adrián Uribe, with Venezuelan singer and model Patricia Zavala as his sidekick, on-the-road reporter and leader of the show’s live band, the program will feature comedy, music and showcase the biggest names in contemporary Latin culture.
“Our family-oriented ‘Domingos en Familia’ programming block continues to delight multigenerational audiences with much success by providing content that combines viewers’ love for music, entertainment, comedy, and light-hearted fun,” says Ignacio Meyer, TelevisaUnivision’s president of U.S. Networks. “These are all the elements that make a late-night talk show like De Noche Pero Sin Sueño the perfect addition to our slate.”
The premiere episode’s first guests are reggaeton star J Balvin and comedian and TV host Omar Chaparro.
De Noche Pero Sin Sueño kicks off October 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT (9 p.m. CT) and will air simultaneously on Galavisión every Sunday and Mondays in Mexico on Las Estrellas.
For the time being, it is not a permanent show and it remains to be seen how long it will remain on the schedule.
Prior to the merger with Televisa, Univision aired variety talk show Don Francisco Presenta from 2001 to 2011, helmed by the network’s iconic and longest-running television host Mario Kreutzberger, who for over 50 years also conducted Sábado Gigante, canceled in 2015.
