The White House announced tough sanctions on seven titans of Russian business and Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov on Thursday, and imposed visa restrictions on 19 oligarchs and dozens of their family members, in retaliation for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Key Facts
The U.S. will place full “blocking sanctions” on Peskov, Nikolai Tokarev, brothers Boris and Arkady Rotenberg, Igor Shuvalov, Yevgeniy Prigozhin and Alisher Usmanov, as well as their immediate family members, in most cases.
The U.S. announced it would also restrict the issue of visas to 19 unspecified oligarchs and 47 of their family members.
The U.K. also sanctioned Usmanov and Shuvalov.
