U.S. politician suspiciously bought these stocks just before major AI deal

United States Representative Cleo Fields made a series of timely stock purchases in Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) and Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) ahead of a major artificial intelligence partnership between the two tech giants.

According to filings from the third quarter of 2025, Fields purchased about $350,000 worth of Oracle and AMD stock combined just weeks before the firms jointly announced an AI chip deployment deal.

Under the Congress trades, Fields acquired Oracle shares multiple times in September, with trades valued between $15,000 and $100,000 each. He also purchased AMD stock valued between $15,000 and $50,000 on August 15, which has since gained nearly 19% in value.

In contrast, Oracle’s stock performance has been more mixed, fluctuating between modest gains and slight declines following the trades.

The timing of these transactions raises questions because they preceded Oracle’s announcement that its Cloud Infrastructure division will deploy 50,000 AMD Instinct MI450 GPUs beginning in 2026.

The partnership marks a major shift in the AI computing landscape as cloud providers seek alternatives to Nvidia’s dominant chips.

Oracle’s new deal with AMD follows its recently inked five-year cloud agreement with OpenAI, potentially worth up to $300 billion.

Overall, Fields has emerged among the top politicians executing numerous trades in Congress that have yielded significant gains, raising questions about the possible use of insider information to guide his investments. However, he has denied any wrongdoing.
