Trump Family Feuds Over $TRUMP Wallet Launch

Tensions are heating up inside President Donald Trump’s fast-expanding crypto orbit, as competing interests clash over control and branding of the $TRUMP memecoin.

According to Bloomberg, a company partially owned by Trump’s sons has issued a cease-and-desist letter to the developers of a new crypto wallet using the Trump name — highlighting a growing internal rift.

Trump-Linked Firms Collide Over Wallet Launch

World Liberty Financial, a firm in which the Trump family holds a major stake, recently sent a cease-and-desist letter to Fight Fight Fight, the entity behind the $TRUMP memecoin. The letter targets the group’s efforts to launch the “$TRUMP Wallet”, a new crypto product that aims to let users trade and store both the memecoin and other digital assets.

The wallet is reportedly being developed in partnership with NFT marketplace Magic Eden, which also received a cease-and-desist notice, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Trump Sons Push Back Publicly

The Trump family’s reaction was swift and vocal. Donald Trump Jr. criticized the project online, while Eric Trump warned:

“I would be extremely careful using our name in a project that has not been approved and is unknown to anyone in our organization.”

World Liberty Financial has reportedly been preparing its own crypto wallet, which would allow users to earn yield on tokens, potentially challenging Fight Fight Fight’s product directly.

Signs of Chaos and Control

The tension spilled into public view as the website for the $TRUMP Wallet — www.trumpwallet.com — was taken offline, then restored, while its official X (formerly Twitter) account was suspended. These disruptions suggest ongoing legal or brand-related disputes behind the scenes.

What’s at Stake?

The memecoin, backed by Trump’s image and branding, has seen significant market traction. Control over accompanying platforms like wallets, exchanges, and yield products represents not just financial potential — but brand authority. The clash signals deeper issues about who truly holds the reins in Trump’s growing influence on the crypto space.

As the 2024 election cycle approaches and Trump’s presence in both politics and crypto grows, this power struggle could set the tone for how the broader Trump-aligned blockchain ecosystem evolves.
