Superstar quarterback Tom Brady has agreed to join Fox Sports when his NFL career ends, the network announced Tuesday, months after the Tampa Bay Buccaneer walked back his retirement announcement.
Key Facts
Brady’s “long term” deal will start whenever he decides to retire from football, Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced on an earnings call, saying, “it is entirely up to him,” according to Deadline.
Murdoch said Brady, 44, will call “our biggest NFL games” with Kevin Burkhardt, and will serve as a network ambassador for “client and promotional initiatives,” according to Variety.
After the news was announced, Brady tweeted he was “excited” but there is still “a lot of unfinished business on the field” with the Buccaneers.

Before Brady joined Fox Sports, the network lost two of its biggest personalities, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, to ESPN.
Key Background
Brady played most of his accomplished NFL career for the New England Patriots, until he left the franchise in 2020 for Tampa Bay. Brady announced his retirement from football after 22 seasons in February, days after ESPN leaked the news and sent the sports world into a tizzy. But weeks later, Brady took back his retirement announcement and said he would be playing another season for the Buccaneers after all, saying “I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands.” The seven-time Super Bowl winner launched an apparel brand, BRADY, this winter, adding to his business portfolio that also includes his TB12 workout and nutrition brand. It was also announced that Brady will appear as himself in a movie, 80 For Brady, about four football fans—played by Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno and Sally Fields—who take a road trip to see him play in the Super Bowl.
