Happy Thor’s Day, Wordle Warriors!
We’ve had a pretty good stretch of fairly challenging words this month. Now we find ourselves smackdab in the middle of September, with just one week of summer left. Next Thursday, the 22nd, is the final day of the season. The autumnal equinox is at 6:03pm PT that day. You should celebrate!
I always celebrate the summer solstice because it usually falls very close (if not on) my birthday. But I want to start having festivities around the others as well. They should be feast days! We should celebrate with friends and family and good food and drink, music and merrymaking!
There’s something to be said for ushering in a new season, for marking the occasion and preparing for what’s to come—maybe not quite like our ancestors did, but still giving honor to the cycle.
I’ll have to think of autumnal words that just so happen to be five letters to use next Thursday. Can you think of any?
Alright, let’s do this Wordle! Let me know on Twitter or Facebook.
Today’s Wordle #453
The Warning: As usual, spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned!
The Clue: If you want to convict someone, you can’t have too much of this.
The Clue: There are no repeat letters in this word.
The Answer:
I swear it’s taken me four or more guesses for the last ten or so Wordles. It’s been a good long while since I’ve done one in three (let alone two). Three works for me! It’s splendid!
I started with crate because it’s a slight variation on the best Wordle starting word, crane, and today it worked out better than Wordle Bot’s chosen word. I wouldn’t have gotten the yellow ‘T’ with crane.
From here, I needed more vowels but the first word that came to mind was knobs for whatever bizarre reason. Who knows how the human brain works? Neurons just fire off willy-nilly like heavily armed drunks in an old saloon. Somehow, miraculously, this brought me down from 132 potential solutions to just 1, though I didn’t know that at the time.
With two yellow letters and one green ‘B’ I didn’t have a clue what the word could be and I played around with a ton of different letters before finally getting to the answer. Even then, as I entered the word, I had my doubts.
But doubt it was for the win! Huzzah!
