Today’s Wordle Word Of The Day #412 Hint And Answer, Friday August 5th

Yesterday I opened my Wordle guide with some poetry. I had to make the entire intro / flavor text rhyme because it was all an elaborate hint for yesterday’s Wordle of the day.

I admit, one tricky thing about writing Wordle guides 7 days a week is just finding ways to open the post up before you get to the actual hint and answer. Sometimes I’ll do random “on this day” trivia. Sometimes I’ll go on rants about the state of our society and the decay in our culture. Sometimes I talk about my life, the traveling I’m doing and so forth.

It’s tricky to come up with something fresh each day but it’s also kind of a fun opportunity to get a little creative or just ramble like I’m doing now. Today is my second day on this crazy Whole 30 Keto diet. I’m also starting to hit the gym again after nearly two months of being either too sick or too lazy or too busy to go (there’s a scale of excuse validity with COVID-19 on one end and “I’m too tired to go the gym today” on the other).

The fact is, I have neglected my health and physical fitness this summer, packed on some extra pounds and it’s time to turn that all around. I’m feeling upbeat and motivated—but wish me luck anyways (you can follow me on Twitter here or say hi over on Facebook).

Today’s Wordle #412 Hint & Answer

First, a hint: When your game keeps freezing and crashing you might describe it as ____.

The answer is:

Another Wordle where I turned bad luck into good. My opening guess, viola, was a pretty cool word I thought, especially since it contained three vowels. Unfortunately, I didn’t even get a single letter right. Wordle Bot says there were 311 remaining solutions, which isn’t terrific.

Quest only got me one letter, but it was a pretty useful one. I eliminated ‘E’ and was left with just ‘U’ remaining out of the five primary vowels (also ‘Y’ but it’s kind of a half-vowel/half-consonant so…).

Just as importantly, this put the ‘U’ in the second spot and eliminated the ‘Q’. That still left me with lots of options. I could have guessed funny here, for instance, but I guessed bunny because bunnies are adorable and because I’d just been reading about Bugs Bunny being overpowered in MultiVersus.

In any case, this got me three green boxes and left me with just two remaining possibilities: Buddy and buggy. I rolled the dice and went with buggy—for the win!
