Today’s ‘Wordle’ Answer #296: Monday, April 11th Solution

Okay hold on a second. It’s already April 11th? It’s Monday again?

What on earth is going on? I swear it was just February. March flew by in a blur. But I thought maybe April would just take its time a little.

Then again, it’s also rather windy here in April so if the time blows by, we can just blame the wind. And I guess we’re all probably in a little bit of a hurry to get to summer. Sure, it’s warmed up quite a bit but we have snow in the forecast again! (This is a good thing for our dry forests but still).

In any case, here we are nearing the middle of the month and still knocking down a Wordle a day to keep our wits sharp while engaging in this fun new cultural ritual. Who’d have ever thought a word puzzle game would be such a big hit?

Today’s Wordle word of the day was a bit trickier than the last few. Let’s take a look shall we?

Today’s Wordle #296 Answer & Hint

As always, dearest readers, there are spoilers ahead. First, a hint:

Online multiplayer games like Call Of Duty are more fun if you scrap one of these together.

And the answer is . . .

Squad!

This was a pretty tough one, I thought, despite getting it in three guesses.

My opening guess—great—was decidedly not great. It got me the ‘A’ at least, but nothing else. Even after splay got me the ‘S’ and ‘A’ in green, I was still left with lots of grey and no yellow.

Then again, I think this actually worked out well. It forced me to get the right answer in many ways, since so many alternatives had been eliminated. I couldn’t guess words like sneak or scram because of the eliminated letters.

Admittedly, it took me a pretty long time thinking this through before I got to squad, which I knew right away had to be the right answer. Sure enough . . . .

Squad is a fun word because I regularly team up with my Call Of Duty squad for some Warzone or multiplayer, something we started doing a lot of during the pandemic and which I genuinely enjoy.

Have fun with your own squads, dearest Wordlers, whatever that may look like in your life. Family, friends, teammates, squad members. It takes a village and all that rot. Peace!
