Today’s ‘Wordle’ Answer #252: Saturday, February 26th Solution

Welcome, Tarnished. To the Lands Between. Have you come here for the Elden Ring?

Oh sorry, I’m getting my games mixed up. This is a Wordle guide, not a new FromSoftware RPG!

Elden Ring, which I’ve been playing a lot of lately (Wordle doesn’t take up that much time!) actually informed my first guess today.

Let’s take a look.

Today’s Wordle Answer #252

Be warned, weary traveler! Great peril lays ahead! Foul beasts, monstrous spiders!

Or, well, okay none of that. That’s Elden Ring. What lays in wait for you, dearest Wordlers, is a spoiler. You’ve been warned.

But before we get there, a hint: Don’t do this with beans.

And the answer is . . .

So I tried ‘ELDEN’ as my first guess but it’s not a word in the answer list. Then I considered using SOULS since Elden Ring is from the studio behind the popular Dark Souls series.

But I settled on BEAST, because it’s a beast of a game filled with ferocious monsters. I should have guessed PERIL—it would have been a better opener, alas!

Fortunately, SLIME worked wonders (slimy beast!) and got me three letters, two right spot. Unfortunately, I somehow forgot to use my ‘L’ in the next guess—one could say I shirked that responsibility—and made zero gains in guess #3.

On the other hand, I knew that the word didn’t end with an ‘e’ or a ‘k’ and I knew the next guess couldn’t be skill or still. This left me with spill as a very viable option and lo and behold, it was right!
