Today’s Wordle #897 Hints, Clues And Answer For Sunday, December 3rd

I often get mixed up on what day it is because everything blurs together and time is a flat circle. I started writing this post thinking it was Tuesday. Weekends mean very little to me since I work from home and I work every day. I don’t work all day every day, but I work every day and I often find myself working more on the weekends than on weekdays, which makes the weekend sometimes feel like the week, and a Sunday feel like a Tuesday.

I’ve got problems, okay. Temporal problems. But that’s neither here nor there. The reality is it’s actually Sunday and a lovely, chilly, wintry Sunday at that. It’s the first Sunday of Advent. Christmas is coming.

Wordle Bot Analysis

After each Wordle I solve I head over to the Wordle Bot homepage to see how my guessing game was.

Wild swings in luck today, though I’m going to pat myself on the back for getting this in three by coming up with a most excellent and bodacious second guess. My first guess—reign—was a reference to House Of The Dragon, the Game Of Thrones prequel on HBO. The first Season 2 trailer just dropped and I wanted to use a word that referenced it. I could have gone with royal (which would have at least gotten me a yellow ‘A’) but I chose reign. As in King Viserys I Targaryen, first of his name, long may he reign!

All the boxes came up grey, unfortunately. Later I learned I had a whopping 464 remaining possibilities. Ouch!

Well, I needed vowels and so I picked a word with all-new letters (all of which are quite common) and two more vowels. At this point, I had a green ‘T’ but still not a single vowel, meaning only ‘A’ and ‘Y’ remained. I didn’t know it at the time, but only one option remained to me. I slashed 464 choices down to just 1 with shout.

After a bit of brainstorming I finally came up with the answer: adapt for the win! Huzzah!
