Today’s Wordle #800 Hints, Clues And Answer For Monday, August 28th

Not only is it Monday—the last Monday of August—it’s also the 800th Wordle. We’re hurtling toward #1,000 which lands next March.

Happy Wordle 800, oh my wonderful Wordlers! This momentous occasion surely calls for some celebration!

Or maybe not. After all, there’s nothing particularly special about the number 800, at least not that I can think of. Maybe the 800th Wordle is just a word like any other.

Maybe needing to be special in some way is more problematic than beneficial. Whatever the case, let’s do this Wordle!

How To Solve Today’s Wordle

The Hint: It’s what I do.

Wordle Bot Analysis

After each Wordle I solve I head over to the Wordle Bot homepage to see how my guessing game was.

A very lucky opening guess pretty much sealed the deal for me today. I saw a family go by not long before I wrote this post and one of the kids was riding on a trike (or a tricycle) and I thought actually ‘trike’ would be a good starting word and then I used it and got me three whole boxes in green!

I could only come up with write after that, which makes sense since it turned out it was the only option left! Huzzah!

Can you solve today’s phrase?

Today’s Score

I get two points for guessing in 2 and another point for beating the Bot who guessed in 3 for a whopping 3 points! Huzzah!

Today’s Wordle Etymology

The word “write” comes from the Old English word “writan,” which means “to score, outline, draw the figure of.” It is related to other Germanic languages, such as Old High German “rizan” and Old Norse “rita,” which also mean “to write” or “to scratch.” The original sense of the word referred to making marks or scratches, often on a surface like parchment or stone.

Play Competitive Wordle Against Me!
