Well my Sunday ended up being less lazy than I expected. I woke up with intense neck pain and was having trouble swallowing. I had a panic attack and headed to the ER where I spent the majority of the day getting top-notch, compassionate healthcare from the doctors, nurses and techs there. I left feeling better, but with some homework. Time to really dial in the healthy lifestyle for real. I’m not a young man anymore.
Though, to be fair, I still feel young—occasional health scare aside. I write about games and TV shows and movies for a living! I don’t ever want to grow up. If I could find it, I’d join the Lost Boys and fight pirates and flirt with fairies and mermaids for the rest of my days.
Or head to Narnia perhaps, and fight the good fight alongside talking animals and dwarves, taking down wicked witches and evil kings.
Books. That’s the thing to keep you young. Books and cardio and vegetables. Books and cardio and vegetables and fiber and and end to all the bad stuff: No booze or coffee, no sugar, no chocolate, no fried food. Good grief! You almost think “What’s the point?!?” until the consequences of your bad habits bite you in the butt.
In any case, let’s Wordle!
How To Solve Today’s Wordle

Wordle Bot Analysis
After I complete a Wordle I always head over to check in with Wordle Bot to see how I scored, both in terms of each individual guess and whether or not I outsmarted the Bot.
A pretty great guessing game for me today. I chose nurse because of my adventures in the Emergency Room, then unwed when I thought about my relationship status (divorced doesn’t fit and neither does single, not that either would have been sensible guesses).
What I didn’t know until later is that nurse reduced the number of remaining words down to just 6! And then unwed slashed that down—fittingly enough—to just 1. It took me a bit to figure it out, but eventually I got there, with ennui for the win!
Today’s Score: Finally a win today! +1 points for guessing in three and 0 points for tying Wordle Bot for a grand total of 1 point. Huzzah!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word “ennui” has its origins in the French language. It comes from the Old French term “anui,” which means “annoyance” or “trouble.” Over time, “anui” evolved into “ennui,” retaining its sense of dissatisfaction or weariness.
The French term “ennui” made its way into English usage during the 18th century. It was popularized in English literature, particularly during the Romantic period, as writers sought to express feelings of melancholy, boredom, or world-weariness.
The word “ennui” has since become an established loanword in English, often used to describe a sense of listlessness, discontent, or boredom resulting from a lack of interest or stimulation.
