Today’s Wordle #601 Hint, Clues And Answer For Friday, February 10th

Thank all that is good and holy and marvelous, it’s finally Friday! Well, thank goodness for those of you planning on taking a well-earned and much-deserved break from the daily grind this weekend. I plan on working a bunch, though I also plan on sleeping in. I love to sleep in. I hate that school has to start so early and I have to get up early to drive my kids. I’m not a morning person in any sense of the word. I’m a night owl, which means I’m often criminally under slept.

I’m working on it. For whatever reason, I just get super wired and alert at night. Playing video games in the evening certainly doesn’t help. Neither does doom-scrolling when I should just read a book. I read a lot on Kindle and I’m thinking I should maybe get an actual Kindle and not have my phone anywhere near the bed so that I don’t look up whatever pops into my brain or shop for chairs or other stupid things to keep yourself awake at night. I also have lots of actual dead-tree books, though I wish I had a nice reading chair in my room to read in.

Hey, maybe I should hop online and shop for that chair! Hey, now it’s 2am and I have to be up in four hours! Wonderful . . . .

It’s a vicious cycle and I blame myself. There’s really nobody else to blame.

How To Solve Today’s Wordle

The Hint: Intoxicating.

The Clue: This word has two-and-a-half vowels in it.

Okay, not too shabby this time around! Chair didn’t look like that great of an opening guess, though I’m happy with the green box and yellow box combo. I didn’t realize until after I ran Wordle Bot that I’d narrowed things down so much. Just 19 left!

For guess #2 I considered ‘smash’ and ‘stash’ and other words that put the ‘H’ in the back. Then I realized that these didn’t rule out any other vowels, so I put the ‘H’ in front and came up with some new ideas. Heavy was my favorite simply because it had the most vowels I could think of, if you count ‘Y’ as a vowel. I thought of hoard also but I’d already eliminated the ‘R.’

Heavy wasn’t right but it was really damn close, and I could only think of one other word: Heady, and sure enough that was it! I wanted to use Cersei Lannister as a clue because the actress who plays her on the HBO show Game Of Thrones is named Lena Headey, but Heady and Headey aren’t spelled the same so that would have been confusing.

In any case, I tied Wordle Bot on this one, so that’s 1 point for guessing in 3 and zero points for the tie. Huzzah!
