Today’s Wordle #497 Hint, Clues And Answer For Saturday, October 29th Word Of The Day

It’s the weekend at last! Huzzah!

The last weekend of October and the perfect time to get dressed up in your favorite costume and go out on the town. Head to dusky taverns where vampires imbibe dark red wine, or smokey lounges with the lycanthropes.

Get witchy at the club or go to the pub with your Mummy.

Whatever you do, do it with flair and pizazz! Just don’t ghost your friends in the process.

As you can see, I’m very much in the holiday spirit at the moment, though I am not typing this Wordle guide in costume. Maybe I’ll do that tomorrow! (I hear Wordle Bot is dressing up like R2-D2 this year).

Today’s Wordle Solution (Spoilers Ahead!)

The Answer:

I think this is probably my luckiest opening guess ever, though that didn’t translate into getting the Wordle in two. Sadly.

Blain—which is, I guess, “an inflamed swelling or sore on the skin”—was a word I tried after first attempting blair (as in the Blair Witch Project…something spooky, ya dig?) Blair wasn’t accepted so I swapped out the ‘R’ for a ‘D’ and voila! I had three yellow boxes. They were rather odd ones, too. A ‘B’ and an ‘L’ and an ‘I’. My first impulse was climb but the ‘L’ wouldn’t fit.

So I went out on a limb-o and that got me the ‘L’ and ‘I’ in green. From here, I was a little stuck. It wasn’t until I sounded out LIB that it occurred to me another ‘L’ might come at the end of the word. Libel was the only word I could think of which makes sense—once I ran Wordle Bot I learned it was the only remaining solution. Blain had gotten me down to just three guesses out of 2,309, which is crazy! The third was limbs.
