ForbesToday’s NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Wednesday, April 16th

Thor’s Day is upon us, so I expect a little rain and thunder. What’s the use of a day named after a god of storms if we don’t get fun and exciting weather? Imagine a reality where each day conformed to its namesake. Sundays were always sunny. Mondays the sun didn’t come out at all, and the moon was always full. I’m not sure we can quite pigeon hole the rest of the days as easily. Tuesday is named for Tyr, a god of war, so I suppose violent crime rates would go up. Freya is a fertility goddess, but I think Fridays are already carved out for lovers.

I digress. More importantly than my endless musings about the days is this Mini Crossword we have to solve. Let’s solve it!

The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it’s free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you’ll need the app to tackle the archive.

ACROSS

1- Person, ___ or thing — PLACE

6- Like someone you shouldn’t trust with fragile objects — KLUTZY

7- A time to dye? — EASTER

8- Dangle a carrot in front of — ENTICE

9- Class for a cognitive science major, for short — PSYCH

DOWN

1- Activities on the docket — PLANS

2- Full of sexual desire — LUSTY

3- Commonly cobwebby room — ATTIC

4- From Prague, say — CZECH

5- Jane in classic literature — EYRE

6- Not get rid of — KEEP

This was a fun, somewhat tricky, Mini. 6-Across really threw me off. I went with CLUMSY, which fit for awhile until I needed 3-Down to be ATTIC. Then I went with CLUTZY because I forgot how to spell the word. The Easter references were nice. This one took me 1:34.
