Ticket Prices Show Wild Swings From Last Year As They Hit The Secondary Market— Here’s Where Tickets Are Most Expensive

Topline

New York Jets ticket prices surged on the secondary market after the struggling AFC East team signed veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, while Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets dropped more than 40% following Tom Brady’s retirement: Here’s how ticket prices have changed on the secondary market.

Key Facts

NFL ticket prices became available on the secondary market following the release of the 2023-2024 season schedule last week, and are most expensive in Las Vegas for the third straight year, with Raiders tickets averaging $1,035, according to data released Thursday from TicketiQ.

That’s more than $200 more expensive, per ticket, than the number-two team, the New England Patriots ($806) and well above the third-most expensive team, Philadelphia Eagles ($642), which saw a 97% rise in average ticket prices from last year following their Super Bowl appearance in February.

The least expensive team: The Indianapolis Colts, with tickets averaging $230 on the secondary market, behind the New Orleans Saints ($252), Baltimore Ravens ($284) and Washington Commanders ($296).

Jets tickets, meanwhile, had their fourth-biggest year-over-year boost, surging 47% from the 2022-2023 season on the secondary market, following the team’s blockbuster signing last month of longtime Green Bay Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a four-time MVP.

The NFL is coming off a bounce-back season after Covid-19 policies limited stadium capacity during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons, coming back to set a Divisional Round record in last year’s playoffs with tickets to see the San Francisco 49ers game against the Dallas Cowboys averaging more than $1,400, and Super Bowl tickets coming in at an average of nearly $9,000—the second most expensive in league history.

Contra

The average Buccaneers ticket price on the secondary market dropped 41% from last year, the biggest year-over-year decline of the NFL’s 32 teams, following seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady’s retirement in February—his second retirement from the NFL, which he said in a video message was “for good.”

Big Number

$667. That’s the average price of a ticket to the Patriots September 10 season opener against the Eagles—the most expensive game this season, with a get-in price (the least expensive available seat) of $667. That’s well ahead of the second-place October 9 game between the Raiders and the Packers, with an average ticket costing $478 on the secondary market.
