Thudarum

Mohanlal’s Thudarum made a global opening collection of nearly $2 million on Friday. By the end of its first weekend at the box office, it crossed $7 million at the box office worldwide.

Tharun Moorthy’s (Operation Java, Soudi Vellaka) new Malayalam film is a crime thriller written by KR Sunil. Featuring Mohanlal and Farhaan Faasil along with Shobana in lead roles, Thudarum also stars Prakash Varma, Irshad Ali, Binu Pappu, Thomas Mathew, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Krishna Praba.

Ground Zero

Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar (Bucket List, Chhatriwali), Ground Zero is based on the real story of an Indian soldier and his endeavors in the Indian valley of Kashmir. The film has been produced Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner of Excel Entertainment.

Ground Zero is the story of Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier who showed rare bravery, grit and courage during his posting in Kashmir and managed to kill a major terrorist – Rana Tahir Nadeem, widely known as Ghazi Baba to the world. Emraan Hashmi plays the role of Dubey while Sai Tamhankar essays the role of his wife. Zoya Hussain is an intelligence officer in the film which hit theatres on April 25.

Kesari Chapter 2

After making a global opening collection of $1.5 million, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh became the fourth highest-opening Hindi film of 2025. The film managed a global score of $5.8 million in its first weekend at the box office. It also ranked at among Comscore’s top-grossing movies worldwide for the weekend ending April 20.

Directed by lawyer-turned-filmmaker Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh revolves around an Indian advocate – Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair who was the Advocate-General of Madras and later fought a case against the British Crown. His fight made the horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre (1919) known to the world.

The film highlights many issues that remain relevant even decades after the case – the suppression of the media and misuse of laws to crush dissent. The emotional depth of Tyagi’s characters as well as narrative help keep the film engrossing even for those not privy to any information about the real story. Akshay Kumar plays Nair while R Madhavan essays the role of his opposing lawyer in the film. While Kesari Chapter 2 does skip quite a few important aspects of Nair’s life, it displays the best of cinematic brilliance and sensitive treatement to all that it chooses to discuss. The brilliant performances by Madhavan, Kumar and Ananya Panday enhance the experience of watching the film.
