Since celebrities and music industry stars stepped into NFTs, they sought their various use cases, and now they put them on music videos
Famous American musician and one of the celebrities holding an NFT, Grammy Award winner Timothy Zachery Mosley or famously known as Timbaland has launched a new music video that features an NFT. Timbaland is the owner of this NFT from the famous Board Ap Yacht Club non fungible collection. Using his NFT in his music video could bring out an all-new use case of nonfungible tokens.
Timbaland owns Bored Ape #590 or NFT, known as Congo, that got featured in his new music video for the song that he produced earlier titled ‘Has a Meaning.’ Grammy award-winning music producer said that creativity means starting and just going forwards. He stated that even while creating this video, referring to the music video, they went beyond limitations.
The music video was produced by Timbaland, along with writing and recording the song himself, after partnering with a popular computer program game, Unreal Engine, which helped the American musician to create the music video that brought the Bored Ape NFT to feature. Timbaland had to wear several sensors and put on cameras that would capture and record his movements, likeliness and facial expression that would help to make the CGI characters in the video more realistic.
Although Timbaland’s music video is special in terms of featuring an NFT but still, it’s not the first time when such an instance took place. Earlier than the ‘Has a Meaning’ music video, two other popular names from the American music industry, Snoop Dogg and Eminem have also created a song that features Bored Ape NFTs owned by the artists.
In September 2021, Timbaland purchased Bored Ape #590 for 74.69 ETH, valued at the time for more than $300K, which could be valued at present for, well, let’s forget about it. Other than just owning an NFT, the music artist was also related to digital assets as he performed at Ape Fest. Music Video of Timbaland initially debuted at the event itself. Ape Fest is known to be the exclusive event that takes place annually, specifically for Bored Ape and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT holders.
