With Easter later than usual this year, many may find outdoor Easter egg hunts more entertaining in warmer temperatures. Dozens of hotels are offering outdoor Easter activities including beach bonfires, lavish brunches, Easter bunny photo ops and cookie decorating among them. Here are just a handful of hotels worth visiting this Easter weekend with fun activities for the whole family.
Grande Easter Egg Hunt, Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes
Easter weekend is a big celebration at the Grande Lakes complex in Orlando with its annual Easter Extravaganza offering dozens of family activities. A Ritz Kids Open House between Good Friday, April 15 and Easter Sunday, April 17, will feature plentiful arts and crafts activities. There’s also a Grande Easter Egg Hunt at Whisper Creek Farm where the prizes will please both the kids and the parents. They include pool cabanas, spa treatments, family falconry lessons and two-night stays at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando and JW Marriott Orlando. Guests can cap off the weekend with Easter Brunch at Celebrity Chef John Tesar-led steakhouse, Knife & Spoon, at the Ritz-Carlton.
Easter Carnival, JW Marriott Orlando
Also in the Grande Lakes complex, the JW Marriott Orlando will feature an Easter carnival and food truck rally on both Saturday and Sunday of Easter weekend. Arts and crafts activities as well as outdoor games will keep families busy at the carnival. On Easter Sunday, there will be a special breakfast buffet at Citron followed by a Mediterranean-inspired Easter brunch at Primo, the newly renovated Italian restaurant. Like the Ritz-Carlton, this hotel participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program and no one will go hungry here.
Blossomin’ Bunnies Scavenger Hunt at Gaylord Resorts
Families will love the chance to solve riddles and puzzles as part of an Easter-themed scavenger hunt using a book of clues at several Gaylord Hotels including Gaylord Palms in Orlando and Gaylord National, Washington, DC. Those who find all of the hidden hares in the hotel atrium will receive a special prize. Some of the Gaylord properties will have an Easter bunny available for photo opportunities while others will have Easter brunches, cookie decorating, musical storytelling with Mother Goose and Easter-themed light shows in the atrium.
