‘The Royals’ Charts List For 4 Weeks In A Row

Four Indian projects – one Hindi, one Tamil and one Telugu film along with one Hindi web series – have all made it to the latest lists of most-watched non-English content on Netflix for the week ending June 1. The Royals made it to the list for the fourth consecutive week while Sikandar, Retro and HIT The Third Case made their debuts on the weekly Netflix global top 10 list.

Three Indian films, one show on Netflix Global top 10

Headlined by Ishaan Katter and Bhumi Pednekar, The Royals ranked among the most-viewed non-English shows on Netflix for all the four weeks that it has been streaming on the platform. Salman Khan’s latest movie, Sikandar also landed on Netflix last week and made its debut on the list for this week. The Tamil film Retro and third film in Telugu franchise HIT 3 have also made it to the list of most-watched non-English films on Netflix this week.

Netflix Global Top 10: The Royals

Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, The Royals recorded 1.4 million views in its fourth week on Netflix, becoming the sixth most-watched non-English show on the platform for the week ending June 1. The show registered 8.6 million watch-hours for the week.

After retaining the third slot on the list for two consecutive weeks since its debut on May 9, The Royals slipped a few places and ranked sixth on Netflix global top 10 list for non-English shows last week. This week, The Royals is the most-watched film in India Pakistan and Bangladesh and it also ranks among the top ten most-watched films in 15 other countries.

The Royals is a modern world meets Indian royalty story and revolves around a cool prince (Ishaan Khatter) and a fierce woman (Bhumi Pednekar) who wishes to turn old palaces into a business idea quite unlike the popular heritage hotels. Veteran Bollywood star Zeenat Aman plays Khatter’s grandmom while Sakshi Tanwar is the mom. The Royals also features Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Nora Fatehi, and Sumukhi Suresh in pivotal roles.

Netflix Global Top 10: Sikandar

Salman Khan’s new movie Sikandar had the digital premiere on Netflix on May 25 and it climbed up the charts to become the third most-watched non-English film worldwide on the platform. Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar recorded 5.1 million views and 11.4 million watch-hours in its debut week on Netflix. It also became the most-watched film on Netflix in nine countries including Mauritius, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bahrain, Maldives, Malaysia, Oman and UAE. Sikandar also ranked among the top ten most-watched films in 27 countries across the globe.

Hussain Dalal, Ratan Arora and Abbas Dalal have written Sikandar which tells the story of former Indian king Sanjay Rajkot (Khan) and explores his humanitarian side which surfaces because of his love for his wife. Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Smita Patil, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Anjini Dhawan. Sajid Nadiadwala co-produced the film under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, along with Salman Khan’s Salman Khan Films. When Sikandar hit theatres on March 30, it was the fourth-highest grossing Hindi film of 2025.

Netflix Global Top 10: HIT The Third Case

The Telugu film HIT The Third Case landed on Netflix on May 29 and managed to score 4.2 million views on the platform and became the fourth most-watched non-English films on the platform. It recorded 10.8 million watch-hours and ranked among the top ten most-watched films in 14 countries across the world.

Written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu, HIT: The Third Case (HIT 3) is about a ruthless cop from the homicide team investigating a murder spree. The film has been produced by Wall Poster Cinema and Unanimous Productions. Nani and Srinidhi Shetty play the lead roles in the film which also stars Karthi and Adivi Sesh.

Netflix Global Top 10: Retro

Karthik Subbaraj’s Retro impresses fans soon after making the digital debut. The romantic action film recorded 2.5 million views and 6.9 million watch-hours. Nearly a month after the theatrical release, Retro made it to Netflix on May 31. It managed to climb up the charts and become seventh most-watched non-English film on Netflix for the week ending June 1.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro hit theatres on May 1 and received mostly positive reviews. It made global gross collections of nearly $10 million in its first weekend. The film stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde in lead roles along with Jayaram, Nassr, Prakash Raj and Juju George.
