The Hottest Tickets In College Football For 2023

StubHub has released their 2023 College Football Preview, and demand for 2023 is outpacing 2022 by more than 50%. The Alabama Crimson Tide are the most in-demand team, with sales up over 50% already from last season. The team is outselling second-place Michigan by 24%.

Alabama also hosts three of the top 10 highest-selling games, more than any other team. StubHub also shared that the Crimson Tide drive demand on the road with the second biggest spike in ticket price when on the road at an average increase of 76% when they visit.

Based on cumulative StubHub ticket sales as of August 22, the ten most in-demand college football teams are:

4. Penn State Nittany Lions
5. Tennessee Volunteers
6. Georgia Bulldogs
7. Auburn Tigers
8. Florida State Seminoles
9. Texas A&M Aggies
10. Colorado Buffaloes

Michigan is up from #7 last season, and the Wolverines are outselling all teams based on number of tickets sold and number of transactions.

”This is likely to be the last season of college football as we know it, with conferences realigning at a rapid pace and playoff expansion on the horizon. We predict that ticket sales will start to reflect changes in how fans travel, create new rivalries and spotlight more teams across the country,” Adam Budelli, spokesperson for StubHub.

“Sales are trending up almost 50% over last season and we’re seeing the most preseason sales of the past five years – Colorado leads the charge with the biggest jump in sales.”

Colorado, Florida State and Tennessee have all seen sales skyrocket, making them the biggest increases in the Power 5. It’s also the first time any of the schools have appeared on the most in-demand list from StubHub.

However, the two top-selling games of the season belong to Ohio State on the road against Notre Dame and Michigan. Ohio State drives the biggest increase on average ticket prices as the away team with a nearly 92% spike.

Ohio State at Michigan is up from #5 last year, doubling the sales of last year’s game.

Notre Dame hosts two of the top 10 most in-demand games against Ohio State and USC. Last year, the USC game didn’t make it into the top 50 games for StubHub, but the game this year is driving nearly seven times the sales as this same time last season.

However, it’s the SEC that leads in sales as a conference.

“The SEC continues to dominate as a conference, outselling the Big 10 teams by 45%. The Tide lead the charge by opening up the season leading ticket sales, hosting three of the season’s most in-demand games, and commanding sales on the road, but it’s Michigan that boasts the most amount of tickets sold given they house the largest stadium in college football,” said Budelli.

It’s the Colorado Buffalo, however, seeing the biggest gains this season. The team beat out Ohio State for the #10 most in-demand team with 15% more total sales than the Buckeyes.

“It’s hard to talk about the upcoming season without talking about the huge changes happening at Colorado under Deion Sanders. The Buffs drive the biggest sales increase from last season as fans place faith in this new team—ticket sales have increased 15 times over,” said Budelli.

Colorado’s top game for the season comes in at #17 when they host Nebraska.
