Nintendo recently revealed the sequel to the hit Nintendo Switch launch title, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild during Tuesday’s big Nintendo Direct.
The new game is called The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom and will be a direct sequel to the previous game.
The game takes everything that made Breath Of The Wild so compelling and adds the sky to the mix. No longer grounded, Link can now take to the clouds above.
“In addition to the vast lands of Hyrule, the latest entry in the storied Legend of Zelda series will take you up into the skies and an expanded world that goes beyond that,” the game description reads.
If you enjoyed climbing in the last game, Tears Of The Kingdom now invites you to fly.
Tears Of The Kingdom’s box-art illustrates this new skyscape beautifully:
The trailer doesn’t show much, but it certainly looks like a lovely return to this iteration of Hyrule:
Nintendo revealed a bunch of other upcoming games and DLC during the stream including Pikmin 4, Octopath Traveler II, Fire Emblem: Engage and Fae Farm.
The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom launches on May 12th, 2023 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
