As is usually the case, this week Taylor Swift’s name appears all over the Billboard 200, the ranking of the most-consumed albums in the U.S. But one of her titles stands out from the rest this time around—not as the biggest success at the moment, but because it reaches a special milestone.
Swift’s album Reputation celebrates five years on the Billboard 200 this frame. The title has now lived on the ranking for 260 weeks, and it’s not about to disappear from the list of the most-consumed albums in the U.S. anytime soon.
Amazingly, Reputation is still performing incredibly well, especially for an album that has been charting for as long as it has. The CD is down slightly, but only to No. 20. Last frame, it ranked at No. 17.
Reputation is Swift’s fourth album to hit five years on the Billboard 200. It’s rare for almost any artist to see one of their efforts make it to that milestone, let alone several. Leading the way among the star’s longest-charting albums on the tally is 1989, which is in a distant first place. That pop blockbuster has now racked up 457 weeks on the list.
Not too far ahead of Reputation in terms of the number of weeks spent on the Billboard 200 are two other beloved albums from her catalog. Her self-titled debut has now spent 284 frames somewhere on the list. Her sophomore set Fearless is just one week ahead of Reputation, with 261 weeks on the Billboard 200.
Reputation debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 back in late 2017 when it was released to the world. In its debut frame, the largely electronic album earned the largest start of the year, as it launched atop the tally with more than 1.2 million equivalent units shifted. It held onto the highest rung for the next two weeks as well.
