Taylor Swift’s Lover rises on the Billboard 200 while her six present other albums fall amidst … More
Taylor Swift may be getting ready to announce the next chapter of her career. It could be that the long-awaited Reputation (Taylor’s Version), or perhaps a new full-length is on the way. There’s also a chance, of course, that the singer-songwriter isn’t planning on revealing anything new for quite some time, and that Swifties are just getting excited about rumors and speculation, which has happened before.
As the world waits to learn whatever comes next, the Grammy champion continues to perform well on the charts in America, as millions of people are still listening to her albums (which is always the case). Swift largely sees her projects decline on the Billboard 200, but one popular effort stands out from the rest for a good reason.
Lover Is the Only Grower Among Taylor Swift’s Albums
Seven of Swift’s efforts currently appear on the Billboard 200, ranking among the 200 most popular and most consumed albums in the country at the moment. Six of them decline, though none by a huge number of spots. It just seems that things are trending downward for Swift…except when it comes to Lover.
The 2019 pure pop effort is the only one of her titles that manages to rise on the Billboard 200 this frame. Just one week away from hitting 300 weeks on the tally, Lover steps up one space, from No. 53 to No. 52.
Consumption of the project increased ever so slightly — just 1% — according to Luminate. In the past tracking frame, it shifted 15,900 equivalent units. In the previous period, that number was 15,750.
Red (Taylor’s Version) Suffers the Largest Drop
Here’s where Swift’s half dozen other albums currently stand on the Billboard 200: The Tortured Poets Department (No. 22), Folklore (No. 69), Midnights (No. 73), 1989 (Taylor’s Version) (No. 84), Reputation (No. 123) and Red (Taylor’s Version) (No. 167), and they all fall from where they sat last frame. Red (Taylor’s Version) drops the farthest, but only by six spaces. Folklore, by comparison, dips just one spot, managing the exact opposite performance of Lover.
Taylor Swift Also Appears on Multiple Rankings
A few of Swift’s projects manage to appear on more than just the Billboard 200, while several of them only find space on that one list. The Tortured Poets Department lives on the Top Streaming Albums tally, for example. Folklore manages to carve out a home on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums rankings, stepping up one space on the more general of the two lists.
Red (Taylor’s Version), meanwhile, dips slightly on the Top Country Albums ranking. A few spots further south comes Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), which remains unmoved at No. 42.
