Taylor Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero’ Helps Prove Her Continued Dominance At Radio

There’s no stopping Taylor Swift from dominating the music charts, no matter which one we’re talking about. Her latest single “Anti-Hero” makes its way to the top of Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart this week, bringing the singer-songwriter back to the summit on the radio-focused tally once again.

“Anti-Hero” marks her eighth chart-topper on the Adult Contemporary ranking, which, it turns out, is one of the most impressive sums of all time.

According to Billboard, Swift now holds the record for having the most No. 1 hits on the Adult Contemporary chart among all acts since 2000. She furthers her lead over contemporaries Adele, Michael Bublé, and Josh Groban, who have all managed to snag half a dozen No. 1s each.

Interestingly, Swift is now tied with Bublé as the only artists to have at least one No. 1 single on the Adult Contemporary chart in the ’00s, ’10s, and ’20s.

Swift first led the Adult Contemporary chart with “Love Story” in 2009, and she fairly consistently sends new releases to the summit. Until this week, she had most recently conquered the list with “Delicate” back in 2018.

Swift’s “Anti-Hero” has already climbed to the top spot of several Billboard charts, with the Adult Contemporary ranking being the latest conquest. It stayed atop the Adult Pop Airplay chart for nine weeks, her longest reign on the throne, and ruled the Pop Airplay for three weeks, marking her tenth No. 1 hit.

“Anti-Hero” started its life by debuting at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart, where it stayed for eight weeks, making it Swift’s longest run at the top of the competitive tally. The single also earned her the honor of being the first artist to fill the entire top 10 in a single week, with nine other songs from her then-just-released album Midnights appearing in the region at once.

The catchy cut is Swift’s first song to hit No. 1 on all three of Billboard’s pop radio rankings–Adult Contemporary, Adult Pop Airplay, and Pop Airplay–since “Delicate,” which also led all of those lists in 2018.
