Taylor Swift rules most major Billboard lists this week as her latest blockbuster The Life of a Showgirl and its 12 brand new hits arrive. Leading the charge is first single “The Fate of Ophelia,” which quickly becomes another champion on the Hot 100 for the singer-songwriter.
It’s commonplace these days for Swift to conquer the Hot 100 whenever she releases a new album, and The Life of a Showgirl brings the singer her lucky 13 leader on the list of the most consumed songs across the United States. As “The Fate of Ophelia” launches at No. 1, Swift passes some of the most successful women and female-led music groups of all time and ties two men who have also racked up a historic number of smashes on the competitive tally.
Taylor Swift Ties Drake and Michael Jackson
Swift is now tied with both Drake and Michael Jackson with 13 No. 1s on the Hot 100. The three artists jointly claim the record for the fourth-most leaders of all time. They all come in behind The Beatles, Mariah Carey, and Rihanna, who score the most, second-most, and third-most No. 1s ever on the Hot 100.
The Beatles lead with 20 champions, while Mariah Carey — who added to her sum several years back with “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” a tune that returns to the summit every holiday season — is up to 19 winners. Rihanna sits just one smash ahead of Swift and company.
Taylor Swift Passes Madonna and The Supremes
Before “The Fate of Ophelia” arrived at No. 1, Swift was matched with Madonna and The Supremes, both of whom have earned 12 chart-toppers. Thanks to her thirteenth ruler, those acts — neither of which has returned to the peak position on the chart in many years — are pushed down slightly on the all-time roster.

Below is a list of all of Swift’s No. 1 hits on the Hot 100.
- “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”

Taylor Swift Dominates the Hot 100’s Top 10
As if scoring a new No. 1 hit wasn’t enough, Swift manages to fill the entirety of the top 10 on the Hot 100. The Grammy champion has now achieved the incredible feat three times — and it remains something no other artist has managed, at least not yet.

Each of her past three albums of original material — Midnights, The Tortured Poets Department, and now The Life of a Showgirl — has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and in each instance, she’s filled the highest tier of the Hot 100 at the same time. Swift’s strategy of foregoing the traditional rollout of a single ahead of an album in favor of massive opening frames has allowed her to score as many top 10 hits as possible.
Here is where all of Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl songs debut on the Hot 100 this week:
- No. 1 – “The Fate of Ophelia”
- No. 2 – “Opalite”
- No. 3 – “Elizabeth Taylor”
- No. 4 – “Father Figure”
- No. 5 – “Wood”
