Late in 2022, Taylor Swift’s fans were overjoyed when she announced her first tour in years. The Eras Tour was the most highly-anticipated trek of 2023 long before it even began, and tickets to the venture were near-impossible to snag as many millions more listeners tried to get passes than there were available.
In the months since that initial announcement, Swift has launched The Eras Tour to rave reviews and packed stadiums. The run is on its way to making history with its eye-popping grosses, and the singer listened to demand and has added to the tour. Many times, in fact.
Since first unveiling The Eras Tour in November 2022, Swift has extended the project more than 10 times. She has added new shows, new cities, or even additional countries 11 times. In the months since the first announcement was made, she has more than doubled the number of concerts included on the schedule, bringing the total sum to 131 shows.
In November 2022, after unveiling the first set of dates for The Eras Tour, Swift tried to make sure fans had more chances to attend. She first added eight more dates in the U.S. just days after the initial tour was revealed. Then, a week later, she tacked on 17 more performances at stadiums across America.
It would be months before Swift would return with more good news, and this time, she took The Eras Tour international. On June 2, 2023, Swift announced that she was headed to South and Central America, with dates in a number of nations. For the next week or two, she expanded that new leg with additional concerts in Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo.
In mid-June, she took The Eras Tour truly global by announcing legs that would take her to Europe, Asia, and Australia. Throughout that month, she regularly updated the schedule, including new shows in places like Singapore, Australia, Europe, and even an extra show in Los Angeles.
Just when it seemed like Swift might finally be done extending The Eras Tour, which had started months ago and was going spectacularly, she returned with more dates that thrilled fans who couldn’t secure tickets to any of her European concerts. Swift added 14 more shows throughout the continent.
At the rate Swift is improving and expanding The Eras Tour, she could realistically add to the 131 shows already planned at any time, and it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. The demand is still incredibly high, and there are millions of tickets that could be sold. There are also plenty of cities and countries that would love to host The Eras Tour, so should she want to, she could continue extending this run seemingly forever.
