Taylor Swift is the undisputed queen of the Billboard 200, the chart company’s weekly ranking of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the U.S. No matter how one looks at the numbers, she is one of the most successful artists of all time on this important tally. And this week, she once again shows how powerful she really is.
In an extraordinary feat, Swift occupies 10 spots on the Billboard 200. It’s not common for any name to fill several spaces at once. Only the biggest stars can claim two or three at a time, and even fewer will fill even more. Typically, Swift is in competition with Drake to see who will own more real estate on the list, but she easily takes this win.
Amazingly, nine of Swift’s 10 albums currently present on the Billboard 200 are found inside the top 40. She owns nearly a quarter of that region, demonstrating her exceptional popularity and enduring appeal, as many of those releases are years old by now.
Swift has two titles inside the top 10. Her recent release Midnights and Lover are both performing exceptionally well. Midnights benefits immensely from her current tour, during which she performs songs from the album that she didn’t get to play after the world shut down from the Covid-19 pandemic. Lover continues to climb the chart this week, advancing to No. 7, showcasing the enduring popularity of Swift’s music.
Additionally, Swift’s self-titled debut album makes a return to the chart this week, further adding to her impressive presence. The release barely breaks back onto the tally, landing at No. 200.
It’s worth noting that all of the main albums in Swift’s discography are present on the Billboard 200 this week in one form or another. Billboard notes that this is the first time this specific feat has happened for Swift. Some of those 10 titles are charting in their traditional format, while a handful of others have gained popularity as Taylor’s Version, re-recorded takes on the original songs that she has recently released.
Swift’s current roundup of 10 charting hits on the Billboard 200 does not include her most recent placement on the tally. Earlier this month, the singer-songwriter’s Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions opened at No. 3 on the chart. The set was released as a Record Store Day exclusive, and only 75,000 vinyl records were made available in the U.S. Given the limited availability and high demand, all copies were immediately purchased. As a result, the project is not available for streaming, preventing it from continuing to chart.
