‘Superman’ Red Carpet Hollywood Premiere

Director James Gunn’s Superman took flight at the film’s Hollywood premiere Monday night in Los Angeles with all of the film’s stars in attendance.

Superman plays in Thursday previews before opening in theaters nationwide on Friday. David Corenswet stars as Superman/Clark Kent, while Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult plays Lex Luthor.

Gunn, who also wrote the screenplay, avoids the origin story route as the action picks up with Kent already established as a reporter at the Daily Planet and Superman a beloved superhero fixture — but Luthor has a plan to change that.

The red carpet event took place at the TCL Chinese Theater in L.A. Here’s a look at some of the stars on hand for the premiere.

Wendell Pierces, who stars as Daily Planet Editor-in-Chief Perry White in Superman, appeared at the film’s red carpet event.

Will Reeve, the son of late Superman 1978 star Christopher Reeve, walked the red carpet at the event. Will Reeve, a reporter in real life, plays a reporter in a cameo in the the new Superman.

Maria Gabriela de Faria, who stars as Lex Luthor’s enforcer The Engineer in Superman, appeared at the red carpet event for the film.

Michael Rooker, a cast member in several James Gunn films, appeared at the Superman red carpet premiere. Rooker cameos as the voice of Superman Robot #1 in the film.

Alan Tudyk, who voices Superman Robot Gary in the film, joined Nathan Fillion and Anthony Carrigan on the Superman red carpet.

Angela Sarafyan, who stars as Superman’s Kryptonia mother Lara Lor-Van in Superman, appeared at the film’s red carpet premiere.

Pruitt Taylor Vince appeared on the Superman red carpet. Vince stars as Clark Kent’s adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, in the film.

Neva Howell, who stars as Clark Kent’s adoptive mother, Martha Kent, in Superman, attended the red carpet event.
