Stone Cold Steve Austin rose to fame in WWE by famously beating up his boss. Unfortunately, that wasn’t really an option when Stone Cold Steve Austin took a temporary gig working at a fast food restaurant for his new television show Stone Cold Takes America, which airs Sundays on the A&E Network.
In the exclusive clip below, Austin takes various orders while working at a Burger Me in Reno, Nevada. While he struggles at times to keep up with the complex orders, Austin’s charm and charisma make him a very personable cashier. The customers are all interviewed after their exchanges, and all recognized him.
“I’m not a wrestling fan, but I know who he is, obviously everybody does,” said one customer who was also impressed with Austin’s service.
Footage of Austin’s surprising drive-thru appearance surfaced online earlier this year, where it quickly went viral. Mike Shinn of @shinndiggcomedy—who is featured in the clip—posted his interaction with Stone Cold on his TikTok, leading fans to speculate everything from Austin working on a new TV show to the Rattlesnake running out of money. With Steve Austin starring in Episode 2 of a reality series where he learns different life experiences, it’s clear Austin’s fast food job was for entertainment purposes only.
In the premiere episode of the series, Austin navigated a daunting sand dune while driving around Nevada’s Sand Mountain.
Stone Cold Takes on America furthers A&E’s partnership with WWE where the popular cable channel will produce 130 new hours of content including WWE’s Most Wanted Treasures, Rivals and WWE Biography.
Austin’s new series is currently the sixth-most popular show on the A&E Network and episodes of Rivals chronicling Austin’s feuds against Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels produced the series’ highest ratings.
Stone Cold Takes on America airs Sunday on the A&E Network at 10 pm/9 pm central.
