The 2022 NFL season began on Thursday when the Buffalo Bills trounced the Los Angeles Rams in the opener. 28 more teams will begin their respective campaigns today as part of an action-packed Sunday schedule.
The Week 1 slate is chock-full of exciting contests. It all gets started with a flurry of nine simultaneous kickoffs in the early afternoon before four games take over in the late afternoon timeslot. A can’t-miss primetime matchup closes out the Sunday schedule.

Most of the country watching CBS at 1 p.m. ET will see the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals looking to take an early lead in the AFC North. Mitchell Trubisky will be making his debut as the Steelers first new starting QB since Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement at the end of last season, but he’ll be facing an uphill battle to lead Pittsburgh to a victory. The Bengals are going off as seven-point favorites as they begin their quest to return to the Super Bowl.

A pair of AFC East contenders—the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins—will also square off early on Sunday. The ‘Phins have a history of playing well against the Patriots at home and are projected to notch another “W” today. Miami is currently a 2.5-point favorite in this divisional rivalry game.
These thrilling clashes lead into four games in the late afternoon window, including one that will renew the longstanding NFC North rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. These teams are meeting for the 124th time since 1961 and most of America will be able to tune in to catch it on Fox. The Vikings are currently a 2.5-point home favorite, a major shift from the initial line of GB -1.5.
The timeslot will also showcase another pair of Super Bowl contenders going head-to-head. CBS is airing the Kansas City Chiefs at Arizona Cardinals battle, a game that both teams will be desperate to win after busy offseasons re-tooling their respective rosters. The Chiefs are unsurprisingly road favorites in this one after Arizona went a mere 3-5 SU and 2-6 ATS at home during the 2021 campaign.
A pair of elite NFC contenders are set to duke it out during the first Sunday Night Football game of the 2022 NFL season. The Dallas Cowboys are playing host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in this marquee primetime game, one that the Bucs are lightly favored in. It should be a riveting bout, however, and the 2.5-point spread suggests it could ultimately go either way this evening.
