The last recorded downtime occurred exactly an year ago on February 6, 2024 which lasted for about 4 hours and 46 minutes and since then there has been no outage in the blockchain network marking the longest continuous uptime in the network’s history.
The Last Outage
Solana had experienced a major outage exactly a year ago, the reason for the outage was not explicitly stated but it was resolved after a successful upgradation to v1.17.20 and a retsart of the cluster by validator operators. This outage led to a 2% dip in the price of SOL token.
Prior to this, the blockchain has faced several outages in the past and it is worth noting that Solana has made significant progress in improving its uptime.
