- According to the CEO of the new NFT platform, users will not be required to have a crypto wallet, and the site would promote simplicity of access for a broad audience.
- OurSong is a platform that allows artists to tokenize and sell their work, rewarding buyers with benefits such as access to unreleased songs and private chatrooms.
- Legend will serve as Chief Impact Officer, in charge of recruiting new artists and their fan bases.
- Lin claims that the site would not need users to have a cryptocurrency wallet.
The platform would help to connect people
Legend has joined the “OneOf” NFT platform as a partner.
By helping with the creation of a new NFT platform for musicians and other performers, John Legend, an American singer-songwriter, is joining the ranks of celebrities migrating to the domain of nonfungible tokens (NFTs).

Legend told Bloomberg that, while he spends most of his mental energy thinking about music, he thinks the platform would help to connect people.
The performer and his co-founders did not give any financial information regarding the project.
Chris Lin, co-founder of digital music streaming service KKBOX, will act as the new company’s CEO, among other well-known figures associated with the initiative. Kevin Lin, co-founder of the live video streaming network Twitch, and Matt Cheng, founder of early-stage venture financing company Cherubic Ventures, will also join the team.

No need to have a crypto wallet
Legend claims that the site would not need users to have a cryptocurrency wallet. According to the Terms of Service, only OurSongDollars can be used to purchase Vibes (OSD). “You may buy OSD in OurSong with a credit card, debit card, wire transfer, or USD Coin in your Circle’s blockchain wallet,” according to the website.
This is Legend’s second journey into the realm of NFTs. Legend, along with Doja Cat and Whitney Houston, was named as a partner of the “OneOf” NFT platform in May 2021.
He isn’t the first celebrity to dabble in NFTs and cryptocurrencies, however, most celebrities choose to mint their own collection rather than launch a complete platform.
First NFT line with Superplastic
One prominent exception is Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, who in April 2021 will launch a sports-focused NFT platform dubbed “Autograph.”
Although many celebrities are eager to become engaged in the space, such as Paris Hilton, who just revealed her first NFT line with Superplastic, others are less enthusiastic.
Kanye West most recently lambasted the NFT world in an Instagram post, stating, “Do not ask me to do a f*cking NFT.”
