Singapore Authorities Planning Marriages in The Metaverse

The Unlimited Potential of Metaverse

With the advent of the metaverse, more people now feel that real life might exist in a digital form. The digital world has recently produced more astounding results in several spheres of existence. The metaverse is increasingly becoming popular in the virtual world thanks to a variety of uses. How you may obtain the virtual version of several actual products and items is becoming extremely fascinating. You could even be able to get your virtual homes, clothing, and other possessions. Additionally, hosting events online is convenient.

A Singaporean government agency suggests resolving conflicts in the virtual world in light of the growing metaverse. Edwin Tong of Singapore’s Second Ministry of Law said that legal matters including court trials and marriage ceremonies may take place on the metaverse. He added that even government functions might take place in the virtual world.

A New Era of The Wedding Industry

On July 20, the minister presented his views during a speech at the TechLaw Fest 2022. He insisted that wedding ceremonies and other special occasions might be held in the metaverse. The law minister also noted that other legal processes, except marriage ones, also take place in the metaverse. Online access to many government services is part of this.

Minister Tong responded to the availability of legal services in cyberspace by saying that the metaverse also offers these services. The minister explained how the epidemic had prompted the use of the internet to address practically all problems. He said that procedures like dispute settlement, which need actual representation, are now also accessible online.

Minister Tong went on to provide an example of an accident at a building site that was involved in a legal battle. Tong claims that the case may be seen in three dimensions using a single digital platform and augmented reality (AR) technology. Tong believed that anybody could transit to be within the confinement facility or the tunnel itself. Using an augmented reality viewpoint that represents the actual place, provides a better understanding of the construction issue.
