Bitcoin Battle in Arizona: Senator Rogers Vows to Refile Rejected Reserve Bill

Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers isn’t backing down after her proposed Arizona Bitcoin Reserve Bill was vetoed by the governor.

In a bold and unapologetic response, Rogers doubled down on her pro-Bitcoin stance, asserting that it’s not Bitcoin that needs Arizona — it’s Arizona that needs Bitcoin.

“Politicians don’t understand that Bitcoin doesn’t need Arizona. Arizona needs Bitcoin,” Rogers said. “I will refile my bill next session.”

The bill aimed to establish Bitcoin as part of Arizona’s state reserves — an increasingly popular idea among U.S. lawmakers in pro-crypto states seeking to hedge against inflation and federal monetary policy.

Looking Ahead: A Political Challenge

While Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed the measure, Rogers hinted at a shift in political winds. She suggested Congressman Andy Biggs could play a future role in supporting the legislation if Hobbs continues to block it.

“If she vetoes it again, I am sure Governor Andy Biggs will be happy to take credit for signing the bill for this already proven (16 years!) innovation that will protect our wealth.”
