It’s the beginning of a new tracking week in the global music industry, and that means this Friday (August 29), many new songs and albums are just hitting the ears of the general public. This time around, there’s one title that stands out as the most exciting of the bunch: Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend. The pop star’s latest full-length has become a quick bestseller, and it may be headed for a sizable debut on the Billboard charts in a little over a week.
Man’s Best Friend Shoots Right to No. 1
Man’s Best Friend easily conquers the iTunes Top Albums chart in the United States – and in many other territories – this Friday. The set shot to the highest rung on the list of the bestselling full-lengths and EPs on what is considered to be the most important platform for buying music digitally in America immediately after its release.
Sabrina Carpenter Beats Hayley Williams and Zach Top
Carpenter’s latest is one of several new titles inside the top 10. The roundup of just-dropped exciting projects includes Ain’t in It for My Health by Zach Top, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party by Paramore singer Hayley Williams, and Lonely at the Top from rapper Joey Bada$$.
Short n’ Sweet Improves as Man’s Best Friend Launches
As Man’s Best Friend conquers the iTunes Top Albums chart, sales of Carpenter’s previous project Short n’ Sweet also increase. As of the time of writing, the deluxe edition of that project — which won Carpenter the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album at the most recent ceremony and made her into a superstar — improves to No. 105, and it will likely continue to climb as Friday progresses.
“Manchild,” “Tears” and “Espresso”
Carpenter also fills three spaces on the iTunes Top Songs chart in America. Lead Man’s Best Friend single “Manchild” returns to the tally at No. 17. The singer-songwriter dropped that cut earlier this summer, and it’s the only tune from the project that emerged before the full-length was made widely available.
Now that Man’s Best Friend is out, Carpenter has selected “Tears” as its second official single. That cut is a top 40 bestseller, as it’s currently seen at No. 37.
All the way down at No. 191 on the 200-spot ranking comes “Espresso.” That single, which introduced Short n’ Sweet in mid-2024, turned Carpenter from a rising talent in the pop space into a certified hitmaker, and remains her biggest single yet.
