Rosé, who was born in New Zealand but launched her music career in South Korea as one-fourth of the global girl group Blackpink, has enjoyed huge success both with the band and on her own. While not all of her solo material fits squarely into the K-pop box, “Apt.” showcases her bilingual skills, with lyrics in both English and Korean.

Rosé Ties Fifty Fifty

With 13 frames now to its credit, “Apt.” ties Fifty Fifty’s “Cupid” as the third-longest-charting hit by a K-pop act on the Adult Contemporary ranking. “Cupid” fell off the list after 13 weeks, but Rosé may soon pull ahead.

Currently, the all-time record for the longest-running K-pop songs belongs to BTS’s “Dynamite” and the septet’s collaboration with Coldplay, “My Universe.” Both tracks held on for 20 weeks — a high bar, sure, but not necessarily out of reach.

“Apt.” Sits Just Below its Peak

This week, “Apt.” is a non-mover at No. 17 on the Adult Contemporary chart, just one rung below its all-time high. Given how slowly songs tend to move around on this specific ranking, there’s a good chance the cut will stick around for at least another week, if not several more. It’s highly likely Rosé will break her current tie with Fifty Fifty very soon, and if momentum holds, she may start creeping up on those BTS records.

“Apt.” has already reached the summit of the Pop Airplay chart, a major win for any K-pop artist. While the song slips this week from No. 7 to No. 11, dipping outside the top 10, a post-peak decline like that is fairly typical after such a high and following such a lengthy stay on the tally.
