Release of Teku Version for Smooth Launch of The Merge

Ethereum

In the series of efforts towards The Merge upgrade on Ethereum, one more step was added successfully. Recently Teku, one of the clients of Ethereum 2.0, released a new version v22.8.1. The announcement of Teku’s new version came out on 22nd August, 2022 in a github release.

The version, according to the news release, would play a crucial role in the maintenance of Bellatrix upgrade. The upgrade is running around the activities scheduled for 6th September. Ultimately, this will facilitate smooth processes supporting the Merge. Also it will look if everything is going on as per the plan prior to the scheduled launch of the upgrade.

After the Teku version’s upgrade, all the mainnet nodes will be subjected to go parallel with the upgrade. The updated version would need to set up a connection with the engine API of the local execution client. Moreover, it will also support the smooth transition of the network from PoW to PoS. Following the release of this version, nodes belonging to the validators are assumed to fix their default recipient fee.

If the execution client’s update fails, there will be an error marked in Teku’s report regarding the configuration of the Merge transition. However, on the other hand, with the successful execution client update, the configuration report will be free from errors or such warnings regarding the unavailability of clients.

As the dates of The Merge on Ethereum network is coming near, all the related initiatives are going tightly with the schedule. The whole team behind the network is making efforts towards the successful launch of a highly anticipated network update.

The Merge is Around the Corner

The Ethereum network had expanded so quickly in terms of users and projects upon their platform that it started getting congested. Such conditions led to further issues within the network related to transaction speed, gas fees and scalability.

Although the solution came in the form of the idea to make Ethereum transition from proof-of-work to proof-of-stakes, that was called The Merge. The upgrade is expected to resolve almost every existing problem on the network. However it got delayed many times, but finally it is going to launch by 15th September, 2022.
